I would consider it the same kind of thing you see on a chip with inserts and a different design on each side. If the insert pattern is not symmetrical (for instance, 2 sets of red/white/blue inserts) you will see the color order in two different sequences if you look at lots of chips.

About half will have red/white/blue when you have side A up. The other half will be blue/white/red when side A is up. Just a consequence of the way the chips are made. Not the kind of 'variety' I would want to add to my collection, but some do.

By the way, I DO collect both varieties of each dovetail construction chip. One with a light color 'tail', and one with a dark tail. To each his own!
