It is real, although common and not worth much. Place used to be a couple blocks from where I work in San Francisco. Tokens were a quarter and used for peep (movies watched in booths) shows. There are also some larger ones (I probably have one at home somewhere) that say "See and talk to a nude girl" and were worth a dollar. They are also real. The patron went into a little booth and could talk to a nude woman (behind glass) on a phone for some small amount of time. By the way, I only know about all this because of my official duties.
