I remember Al Gore campaigning that those who were "lucky in the lottery of life" should pay for those less "lucky". His idea that those well off could only do so by being lucky was ridiculous.

I haven't made it down the Board yet to see what this "redistribution" is all about, but there will never be a time when the government will seize your wealth (except for the death tax). They can however tax the living bejesus out of future income. The day that the federal government comes to take my savings is the day I bunker down and claim my house as the independent Republic of Ed!

I'm a firm believer that whoever wins the election will have better sense than jack up the taxes. Everybody knows that we NEED investment right now more than ever. Taking it out of the market would be a disaster. I have to believe that enough people in Congress will not let this happen, regardless of what the president thinks. (And this belief helps me sleep at night.)

The market and economy is a mess right now. Things will get worse before they get better, but they WILL get better. We all need to hang tight and keep our heads.
