That year I decided to mix-in the OTY attendees with Club members in an effort to keep their interest. Initially, I considered sprinkling them around the room, at random tables, but opted to keep them close to the stage. This meant staying at a dedicated table or trying to mix them into the closer tables. However, those closer tables were somewhat set, so, I decided, last minute, to mix my reserved table with the OTY table, which gave the appearance of two "OTY" tables. (Between the two tables of 20 people, only the OTY 10 were comped by the Club. All 10 of us Club members (including you and I) all paid our own way.
In any event, since I've been pushing to get OTY recipients to attend the Award Ceremony (the Banquet) I have always self impossed a limit of 10. Because of the foreseen duplication of attendees and the fact that the Palms had an OTY hat-trick, the number of OTY attendees were less than 10. But that was the exception, not the rule. Previously, it has been 9 or 10, but never more. (Pun intended! )
