Here's my take...
Although all of the pundits have been focusing on how Chicago lost the series, to me, the answer is clear. The Dodgers out-pitched the Cubs. The Dodger starters combined for a 1.00 era. The staff as a whole had a 2.00 era. Even if Chicago had not walked so many in game 1 or made so many errors in game 2, it appears that the Dodgers would have outscored them anyway. Yes, everything would have been different and it's all speculation. I know, but I am just taking those things out of the equation and the Cubs still would have lost in every game. To me the story for the Dodgers was starting pitching and clutch unrelenting hitting from the top of the order.
But yes, the Cubs looked terrible (way below their regular season performance).
