They were around from 1931-1941...Started out as a billard and soft drink parlor in 1930.

In 1931 and later years they had roulette, keno, slots, a football pool, poker and pan. Swede Collet was holding the gaming license for awhile. Swede turns up all over in Reno joints.

Eventually Dick Kolbus took it over. It was opened it as The Mint. If you look at my site and The Mint, last picture. The guy on the far left is Dick.

Bill Harrah took over the lease in 1946 and opened his first full casino at that site.

It will be on the site eventually even tho I doubt it had an ashtray.
