I suspect that was not saying a lot - I wonder how many slots there were in Gardnerville back in those days. I remember going through there back in the mid fifties - wasn't much there and US 395 wasn't a very busy road except for the three months in the summer. I would guess these little places had to make it mostly on locals in those days - most of the travelers would go right on through to Reno.
