It seems you see this more and more these days where "obsolete" chips just show up. As Mike said, Very Unusual for a casino to do that. Is it really that unusual?
- How many Aruba and Puerto Rico chips have shown up in BIG boxes the last year or so?
- Then we had the Playboy chips from AC found in a hole.
- Weren't there a bunch of the old Tropicana Fountain chips that showed up by the box?
- Some of the Horseshoe chips?
- What else did I miss in the last 2 years?
People that collected these chips and paid face value for them now find out there worth nothing.
Worse than that, people paid more than face for what they thought were highly collectable AC Playboy chips.
Sure does make me wonder - am I the only one starting to wonder?
I'm not sure I'm going to buy ANY more older chips at this point from any jurisdiction.
I don't buy them in hopes that they double in value, but I sure don't want to see them worth pennies on the dollar.
