Maybe it's not where you wanted him to respond, but club business is addressed on the club BB. With regards to the "old guard" responding, maybe it's because they are more aware of what it takes to get something like the convention contract done. It has been noted many times that the club membership will know the dates & place just as soon as the contract is signed.
