Fluorescent lighting will fade chips. Not as fast as sunlight, but the UV energy will eventually dull some colors.

I suspect that sunlight will have little effect on dice, but the atmosphere will. Old dice will eventually turn brown and brittle and eventually crumble. Best to store them in a hermetically sealed bottle filled with Nitrogen [g[.
