I have 70 plus employees working with me as a district manager.....the policy must be black and white. If the policy states children can not play or some other rules that would prohibit this young person from playing you would need to allow this to happen. If you do not want this to be allowed next time you should make that adjustment. I would have signed this person up without asking permission. This sounds like a fun contest to jump into.....only problem I dont know much about the ins and outs of football.

I see nothing wrong with your post. I do not have all the facts surrouding the entire issue....but....I would like to see equality and let the youngster play.
