I agree, Doug. To oppose something that can contribute to the overall solution to a problem because it might not result in tangible results for years has never made sense to me.

It's sort of like the situation where somebody says "I can't go back to school and try to better myself at my age! I'll be X number of years old in four years when get my degree!"

Hmmmm, let's see, if you DON'T go back to school, you'll still be X number of years old in four years. And you STILL won't have your degree. Which is better?

It's never too late to make a change for the better, and it's never to late to take an action that can contribute to the solution of what will be an ongoing problem for decades to come.

We need to drill where there is oil. We need to build more nuclear power plants. We need to put money into wind power. We need to continue to develop solar energy. We need to continue to exploit fuel-efficiency in every aspect of our lives.

It's going to take more than one answer to solve this problem. I hope our leaders will begin to see that, no matter which side of the aisle they sit on.
