Doug, there is a difference between the energy argument and the others you mentioned, for example Cancer research. What I mean is, with the energy crisis, we have options that provide faster, although not immediate, results than the drilling option would. With Cancer research, we dont have any options that will just cure it tomorrow. So if we have, lets say, 2 options for lower enegry costs and lower foreign oil dependency, then why not choose the option that takes less time, but also is better for the environment like wind or solar? Just my thoughts.
