I took from Sweden to Finland in 1990, but I was toward the end of my trip and had no funds for gambling, so I don't know if they had chips. I know they had slots, but I think they used coins, not tokens (at least at the lower denominations I saw). And I remember at that same time people talking about ferries to a Swedish island, where many people went solely for the purpose of gambling on the ferries.
