I found that there was an Imperial Athletic Club in Oakland, CA. If anyone has stationary, playing cards, etc with the club's name that is in the same style as the inlay on the chip, that would do it.

I would hope, with all the CA collectors, one might be able to positively include or exclude Oakland.

What I know: Chip was delivered to the Novelty Card Works, Chicago, IL. in 1925. I guess knowing if the Novelty Card works had a national catalog would help. If it was a local operation I would have to look elsewhere. Now there is an Imperial, Nebraska ....?
