Of course there is shill bidding ...
In Response To: Opinions on Shill Bidding... ()

One member regularly uses 2 or 3 shill bidders. Every couple of weeks the same chip used to up with the same shill bidders. The bidders bid it up to a certain level and stopped. Sometimes they would win the chip, most times they didn't. You would think that after winning the same chip several times, they would lower their bids --- nah. The topper was when my friend called the seller only to have one of the shill bidders answer the phone.

Personally, I've given up caring. Then again I've never bid on his auctions and never will.

However one time a newbie friend with more money than brains was bid up over $800 on 3 auctions on chips worth $200 max. All underbiders were shill bidders. Yep, he knew he had a fish alright and reeled him in.

Of course some say so what. Bid your max and don't worry about shill bidders. That is all well and good but it hurts to see a friend get ripped.
