You may pay an entry fee and they set the machines up for timed play...say 5 minutes...Then, you keep masjing down on the button to spin reels or whatever. Nearly every spin wins something.

Then, you do this again or a few more times and they add the scores together. High score wins. Usually something with grey or silver hair, female, 122 years old just off the bus wins.

If you should win you get wabashed in the side of the head with a purse full of rolled nickels by the gray haired thing.

At least that's how it comes down in Deadwood.
