That's a better response than I've heard from others with unusual collectibles: I've often heard reports where the appraisers come up with a number that has no connection to reality (particularly with Beatles collections, which is one of my specialties). Appraisers often rely on books, and I'll bet they didn't have the right chip guides on which to base an estimate.
