Re: NCR: Anybody tried a Herman Miller Aeron Chair

Been there, done that.... Having had 2 back surgeries I 'need' a good quality comfortable chair. I have been the 'proving grounds' for many so-called ergonomic chairs. My 2 main complaints are durability and comfort past the first hour.

Since no to butts are the same vbg I won't recommend a chair but will recommend a type of chair. They are called 24 Hour chairs. 24 Hour chairs are must meet a set of industry requirements for people who sit in a chair for prolonged periods such as 9-11 operators, air traffic controllers, dispatchers. and others. Durability and comfort are the main focus, unfortunately price is not. These are usually a bit pricy. I had on when I worked for ExxonMobil and it was $1800, the one I am sitting in typing this was $2400. I love my chair, I could live in it, and that is the whole point of a 24 Hour chair. Many people make them but there are seldom many on a display floor since they are so pricy and it is businesses rather than individuals who are the main buyers.

I went through a lot of chairs before I broke down and paid the price.... But as I said I am one who 'needs' one.
