() The LED UV light is not the same wavelength as a florescent tube, and there's more white in the LED. They work, but not as well. Best part is if you look about you can find them for under $5.
Same goes for the incandescent light bulbs, which aren't very good either, they run hot and in my opinion the worst choice.
You can find some battery operated small florescent lights, usually at coin shops and shows. They are the best portable light I've found. Usually under $20.
Like you wrote the best is the desk lamp type or the small tubes, that have a better coating and less of the rest of the spectrum. You can usually find the tubes at a hardware store, and I have found them at Lowe's and Home Depot, but it's hit and miss. You just put them into the matching fixture and you're on.
