The H.C.E. mold, Binion's chips that you mention, were altered by the owners in the early 1950's when Benny Binion spent three years in the federal pen for doing a dastardly, dirty deed. He could not have his name on any casino property during this period. The interim owner/manager was Joe Brown, who had "inio" scraped from the chips so that they read "B----n's" so that they could reflect Brown's name as well as Binion's. They are indeed, true authentic casino chips.
The reason that we listed repaired chips in TCR-10, was to inform collectors which cancelled chips had a history of being repaired or altered.
