I bought a $20 gold coin from an Ebay seller with excellent feedback on June 27 and paid immediately via Paypal. The seller acknowledged my payment, and promised Express Mail shipping. After a few days, I emailed him asking if he had sent it. After a couple more days of no coin and no response, I tried to contact him again. Two more days of no coin or reply, and now I'm making threats. I had no phone number or address for him, only a name. So I googled his name trying to find his phone number, but instead found his obituary. Apparently he passed away on June 29. No doubt it was him because it was his town and he was described as a prominent coin dealer. I called Ebay and they told me to file a claim with Paypal. After 10 days, they ruled in my favor but said they couldn't retreive my money. This ever happen to anyone else? His negative feedbacks are starting to pile up from people who got burned like me. Any ideas would be appreciated. This was no small amount of money. His Ebay handle was catsdudedad.
