Re: Was the Western Casino/New Western Casino, ...

The Western Casino at 124 Fremont was licensed for slots, 21, craps, roulette, big 6 and chuck-a-luck. It was open from 7-19-41 to 1-3-42, per Fuller's Index grin

The New Western Casino was licensed for slots, 21, craps and roulette. It opened on 2-2-42, closing date is unknown, per Fuller's Index. I looked through a 1944 LV Business Directory; the New Western wasn't listed, and I couldn't find anything else listed at 124 Fremont (tho' I could have missed it). The SS Rex was listed at 128 Fremont, and I wonder if it might have taken over the storefront next door?
