PayPal and eBay

While listing a couple of items on eBay tonight, I encountered for the first time a mandate that I list PayPal as a payment option. I have the basic PayPal account that doesn't accept credit cards, and while I haven't been listing PayPal as a payment option in previous auctions, I've let bidders know after the auction that a non-credit card PayPal payment is OK. I haven't had any problems before, and I know some others on the board have done this, too. But it appears those days are over.

One thing that struck me as funny in all of this was that I got an alert while listing the auction that said because of my "limited transaction history on eBay," I was being required to list PayPal or a credit card as a payment option. I've been an eBay member since 1998, with a 100 percent feedback rating of 2393, but apparently that still qualifies as a "limited transaction history."

This obviously is just another way for eBay to extract more money from us. Has anyone else who hasn't been listing PayPal as a payment option suddenly found themselves forced to do so?
