I hate to get involved in board political rants, but I was just struck by your comment:

"I understand calling Steve a racist (although I don't believe he is one)"

He said he would not vote for any African American for President on the basis of their race. So, exactly why is it you "don't believe he is one"? Basing decisions upon race rather than the characteristics of the individual seems like the exact definition of a racist to me.
