From your description, it sounds like it is an 8th issue, and fairly rare. The price guide places its value at $800 to $2000, depending on condition, but speaking in general terms, the price guide is 4 years out of date and the market has dropped a bit, most collectors agree that 50% of guide prices is a fair starting negotiating price.

If you take a photo of the chip, I'd be happy to verify what it is exactly, and if you are looking to sell it, I would be interested, as I am a hopeless chip-a-holic!
