Reminds me a feud I witnessed a few years back...
In Response To: NCR (Humor) Anger Management ()

How about 20 years back, when I lived in Southern California. I used to play on a softball league and over the course of a season we end up playing each team 3 times. One of the teams we played against had one of those loud-mouth catchers that figured his mouth could somehow influence wheather or not you could hit the ball. He was pretty annoying, but being laid-back Southern California, it was no big deal. But over the course of several seasons, our paths only crossed on the softball diamond and we never, ever talked. Afterall, he was the opposition and he was a loud-mouth jerk at that!

Whenever we played aginst that team, his car was clearly recognizable because he had a personalized license plate that spelled out: IMDUMMY2

Try as I could, I just couldn't figure out what the plate meant, but I liked to think that he took some pride in being a dummy! vbg

Anyway, on one particular game day (Sunday mornings) we all showed up to play, but the weather conditions said otherwise and both teams, by coincidence went to the same restaurant to have breakfast and bemoan the lack of a game. As I was walking inside this loud-mouth was at the door, holding it open for our group and he jsu had a different personna. (I guess his game face was off.) Anyway, in that moment I asked what the deal was with his personalized plate and he proudly said that he was a dummy 2. I asked, Dummy 2? and he said no, not dummy 2, but dummy too, as in also.

I asked what that was from and he explained that where he worked, he and a guy that worked for another company but in the same building, were highly competitive for a specific parking space. So much so that they raced to get the preferred parking space, until one day the other guy managed to get the parking space designated in his name. But if Dummy Too got to work first, he would move the sign (it was movable) and then park in the preferred space, which incensed the other guy. Evidently this battle raged for some time and when one left for lunch the other would take the space, until one day they got to work at the same time, but the guy with the reserved sign wasn't quite quick enough and Dummy Too got the space. As Dummy Too got out of his car to move the sign, the other guy said you're such a jery! To which Dummy Too said, "You know, your'e such a dummy!" To which the other guy's snappy comeback was... "Well you're a dummy too!"

So Dummy Too decided to simply get a personalized license plate proclaiming himslef to be Dummy Too and he would always park next to Dummy 1 and his license plate would rub it in for him about poor comeback comment.

So when he told me of the story, I asked if he still parked next to the guy. He said no, he quit and moved to another company a couple of years ago! Turns out Dummy Too was often asked about the plate and enjoyed telling the story, So much so that he continued to renew it each year!
