If casinos were competing for our convention, if we had that kind of clout, perhaps going public on who is on the short list might serve a purpose. That just isn't the case, and I doubt it ever will be. The criteria for host hotels is pretty simple - facility availability and afford-ability both for the club and for convention attendees. Moving away from that criteria is what you are suggesting. No short list would have equal potential host proposals. We place our trust in the BOD to find the best deal, and please believe me, they do. These matters are all contractual negotiations, and going public with them before a deal is reached could interfere with or even halt negotiations.
We are a hobby that is required to deal with folks who are all business. They don't have to like us or appreciate why we show up at their property, other than having some assurance they'll be turning a profit.
