Rick, your "drink the Kool Aid"....
....comment comes across as a bit offensive especially to those who have labored over the years to make our conventions a smashing success. The BOD has always operated in our best interest when selecting a convention site. The Club's criteria for convention space and its desire to keep the cost at a reasonable level so that the maximum numbers of members can participate is no secret. I remember Wayne stating at the business meeting that next year's convention location and dates would be announced in 3 to 4 weeks. We are now in the third week since the convention concluded. We elected our BOD to run the Club's business for US; let them do it. Please be patient; I am sure an announcement is forthcoming.
Here's a thought for you to ponder: You assume there are multiple venues being considered for our next convention. Maybe there is only one facility being considered and if that's the case there would no need to solicit input from the membership. I suspect that may be the reason why no announcements have been made to date. I do know that historically there has never been an announcement on convention location and dates until a contract is signed by both parties.
