Think about it. Say they announce three or four choices. NONE of them will be universally popular. ALL of them will have somebody who hates them and swears they won't attend if the convention is held there. And there are those among us who would go behind the scenes and try to get involved in the process just to make sure the casino they hate isn't picked.
In short, YES you're asking too much! 
There's a term for what would result. It starts with "cluster" and rhymes with firetruck.
