Like with the collection I just purchased this also comes with a story straight from the "you've got to be kidding me!" file.
Another member returned from the convention to find an email in his inbox with an offer to sell if interested. As he wasn't into that sort of thing & knew I was he passed the email onto me. After emailing the seller I managed to seal the deal. As he was from New South Wales I asked if he had any info on the Illegal clubs that ran in Sydney in the 70's (info & details are scarce to say the least). He didn't know anything about anything to do with the clubs and had only come accross the plaque by chance. How's this......he works for the Salvation Army and while sorting through the donations the plaque fell out of some clothing. He thought he could make the Salvos some extra cash rather than the $2 it would have sold for in the store so did some hunting to find a buyer......and now it's mine. I started to calculate the odds of this finding it's way into my hands but gave up fairly quickly!!
Also for your viewing pleasure & some of my most prized Aussie chips, more illegals from the seedy underworld clubs of Sydney. The majority of these were in the collection I just bought & most have all been verified as actual clubs. Still trying to verify the actual locations of a couple.
