Re: wellll.....not to be picky, but...

while all of the names you mentioned were on that block that Binion's now covers, they weren't all originally at the same address...

The Bird Cage was on the corner of 1st & Fremont, with the Mint next door. The Mint expanded and took over the Bird Cage. The Boulder Club was on the other side of the Mint. The Horseshoe (which was on the corner of 2nd & Fremont) expanded and took over the Boulder Club, and later took over the Mint.

On the other hand, if you go with all the places that were on the block that is now Binions, you left a bunch of 'em out! vbg The Apache, Boulder Club, Western Casino, New Western Casino, Jackpot Club, 21 Club, Club Savoy, Khoury's Club Savoy, Kiva Club, SS Rex, Rex Club, Eldorado Club, and Clover Club. grin

This postcard is from around 1941-1942...The Jackpot (with its slot machine sign) and the Western Casino aren't seen in many photos. grin It's our postcard, but credit for the marvelous scan goes to Mr. Splashbar...he does great work (and the chips are his)! grin
