After scanning an item, hit EDIT then COPY. Then bring up an graphics program such as Microsoft Photo Editor (usually is bundled wth the computer) or Adobe Printshop, etc.

Simply paste the scan into the program. The scan at this point can be modified such as cropping, sizing or picture enhancing. The picture can then be saved (the default save in many prgrams is as a jpeg)
