Katie - the scanner I am using can be purchased for something like $49 at Circuit City. You don't need a top of the line unit to scan chips. Greg keeps on reminding people that your computer screen is only good for 72 DPI. Anything more is wasted. Just think of all of the aggravation you will save when you get it.
