This one time.....
I planned on holding the dice for at least an hour......after about 20 secs the stick man says to me "Sir, please shoot the dice." So I guess my record for holding the dice is 20 seconds. LOL. Seriously though, I don't care how long your dice roll was time-wise. Tell me how many times you threw the dice. On an average player game, it takes about 45 seconds to throw, retrieve, pay, set-up and send the dice again. Sometimes longer depending on the type of action....heavy, light, etc. Of course it can be shorter as well. Some of my best rolls ever were by myself. a 30 min roll might have seen the dice roll 45 times or so. I've seen over 70 rolls many times. One casino used to keep track of every shooter's number of rolls for the whole day and the person with the highest number by midnight won $100. So you could see just how many times people were rolling. Typical winner had 40-50 rolls. But there were some much higher. Just my two cents worth.
