Thanks Greg,
We really like ours. They are the ultimate "low maintenance" pet. I sometimes bring her indoors and hold her while watching TV (really!). She likes the warmth from my hands...
I was told that the pet shop sells turtle vitamins but when I went in to buy some, the clerk talked me out of it. She said that being outdoors it will get vitamins from bugs and the sunlight. Combined with the protein (cat food) and fruits we feed her - they said she will do fine. She seems to be doing great. Grows approx 1/2 to 3/4 inch per year. I've heard that they can live 75 to 150 years.
I'm waiting for Whiteman to get on here and tell me that she is covered under the 'endangered species act' and Janet Reno will have a full report on her desk on Tuesday. <<gg>> ( I like the line that David Letterman uses... "The unofficial motto of the U.S. Justice Department - ""Don't get up - We'll let ourselves in!"")
Later,
Steve in Albuquerque
