Troost Street was a hot bed of illegal activity in 30's and 40's.
I have several pages of notes from research on the KC illegals. John Murray's name shows up quite often. One group had most of the joints and they had 100's of chips shipped to a liquor store on Troost ST.

CA collectors like to think they were later used there. I have never seen any proof of that.
