I have had to use a scooter for several years when I go places like Vegas (or Reno). After several trips to the Riv,a few helpful suggestions (for what they are worth). It is a bit of a hassle going through the main load/unload area at the Riv if your using a scooter. On the south side of the building, there is an entrance with bellman it is so much easier all the way around. The hallways back where the convention is are wide and easy to maneauver(sp) in. Getting to the food court is a bit of a hassle. The doors from the outside are not 'accessible' so requires some effort, and inside there are steps. They have a wheelchair elev to raise you up, but it seems it would have been easier to put in a ramp. Some of the entertainment venues require the same trip. In the hotel and rooms, there are some tight hallways.
The casino floor is pretty easy to get around on. The carpeting has walkways laid out and they are plenty wide. Some bars and restaurants are a bit tough to get in and out of, but splashbar is easy. SPLASHBAR IS ALWAYS EASY.
I have never had any problem getting to and fro, or in and out of any club event, partly because there are plenty of good folks who will grab a door if needed. Pool is accesible, but in June a lot of that accessibility disappears in a crowd. On the bourse floor (selling floor) the club does an excellent job of spacing the aisle and space on ends of aisles to work around. The booths have chairs, but every dealer I have ever dealt with, is more than happy to move a chair, or find a little space to get in and see. The crowd is much worse on Thursday then fri or sat.
Avoid empty elevator shafts.
If this is your first trip to Vegas on a scooter, and you would like some more suggestions beyond the rIV, let me know. hAVE FUN.
