I just got off the phone with Bob's wife Carolyn. She was in very good spirits. In fact, I'd say she was ecstatic! It seems that Bob woke up in ICU and asked the nurse to call her. He just wanted to chat. <g> Anyone who knows Bob knows that he spends a lot of time on the phone.

His surgery went very well. They only had to remove 50% of his liver, down from the 60% they planned to do. That is good news. The surgeon was very comfortable with the operation and was pleased with the way the liver was reacting. He said that Bob "tolerated" the operation very well.

He will be in ICU for a couple days and in the hospital for a few more. He isn't out of the woods yet by any means, but he is darn sure headed in the right direction.
