Thanks Tom, I'll keep that in mind. I doubt my new friend has ever even set foot on this continent, much less taken up residence where he says he has. I hope he writes back, but I think they're getting used to people trying to string them along. There are several websites where people publish their correspondence and get the scammers to do wacky things in hopes of actually getting somebody to send them some money.
