Re: Sad state of affairs.. Bad for us...bad for th

I have been told that money is not the problem that time is a huge problem. Some guides have been stored using out of date database formats. Most authors have to get up and go to work in the morning. In MY opinion, I think that some have authors have just had enough of the work for no reward especially given the amount of work remaining to put their databases into printable form. There is more to it than just recording a few Ebay sales prices. Once the info is updated (and I think most of the authors are keeping the databases close to current) there is a huge job of checking for errors, confirming prices, formatting each page, getting it to a printer and binder, etc, etc. And then trying to sell the darn thing.

We are getting to one of the biggest problems AGAIN - our club (and hobby overall) is just too small to interest "the big boys" in producing a price guide for chip collectors. Think about how many guides are sold each year to coin collectors and you will understand the problem.
