Response to John Benedict
In Response To: Re: GENE'S ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ()

John, I agree with what you said about asking questions. But, do you think these questions would be answered honestly by a seller using the "bait and switch" tactics I have described? I don't think so. The first of these problem chips was received by me last week. After winning an auction, and before mailing payment, I noticed the seller using the same scan for a new auction. I e-mailed him questioning this and asking about the condition of the chip I would receive. I was assured that I would receive a chip in "at least that good condition." Based on his promise I sent payment. When the chip arrived, it was no where near in the condition of the scanned chip. The chip in the scan had a full vibrant hot stamp and very few minor rim nicks. The chip I received had a hot stamp that was very weak, some letters partially missing, and had more substantial rim nicks. When I questioned him I was told that I was too particular. This may or may not be true but that is irrelevant. His promise as to what he would deliver was broken. I was mislead by his scan and his promise. So while I do agree with you about asking questions, I don't think that a seller using the "bait and switch" method will answer honestly.
