This usually refers to the kind of mold design on a molded-plastic chip (usually BudJones). If the edge markings on the chip are recessed below the surface, it is an incuse mold design. If it is flush with the surface, it is not incuse.

It's not the chip that is "incused" it's the markings on the chip.
