NCR- non-chip of the day...Swizzle sticks! grin

A few days ago we got a group of glass swizzle sticks from Las Vegas. I believe that they're from 1939, or thereabouts, based on Fuller's Index, TGT and our January, 1939 phone book.

Thought you might like to see them... grin
(I've included a couple that we had previously, from the same era)

1. swizzle:

See Boulder Dam at
AL'S BAR
111 So. First Street
Las Vegas, Nevada

Not listed in Fuller or TGT, but it is in the 1939 phone book

2. swizzle: (printed in red on cobalt blue)

Stolen From
APACHE BAR

3. swizzle:

Snatched from APACHE BAR
Las Vegas, Nevada
All is forgiven-call again

Fuller shows that the Apache Casino was licensed for slots, 21, craps, roulette and keno, from 3/19/1932 'til 1941

4. swizzle:

Stolen From
BARREL HOUSE & ANCHOR ROOM
Las Vegas, Nevada

Fuller shows the Barrel House Casino at 22 Fremont from 10/6/34 'til 12/31/38; licensed for slots, 21, craps and roulette.

When researching the CCTN article that I did on Fremont Street, I found something that said the Barrel House was next to the State Cafe. There was a hole in the wall between the two, so patrons of the Barrel House could order food from the State Cafe. During prohibition, if they knew the right people, Barrel House patrons could also order drinks. grin
(I don't know what the Anchor Room was...?)

5. swizzle:

BOULDER CLUB BAR
Las Vegas, Nevada

Fuller's shows the Boulder Club at 118 E. Fremont from 4-1-1931 (one of the first 4 or 5 gaming licenses issued in LV) 'til 10-1-1960. Licensed for slots, 21, craps, big 6, faro, keno and poker
