Re: I'LL DOUBLE CHECK MY...
In Response To: Re: I'LL DOUBLE CHECK MY... ()

I'm at home and I see that IO-OZ is not a new code. I notice that the piece pictured in Dale's book has a white rim. The color on his chip must have worn off. I'm sure that your chip (and my chip) is code IO-OZ. I would not have coded it without the ok from Kenny. Since Kenny is coding ivories (I think Dale is busy with numerous other activities), I'm pretty satisfied with the IO-OZ code.

With respect to finding an extra tic or two on your chip, that is not enough to make a new code. Many chips have been found over the past couple of years where there would have been different codes in the past. Now there has to be a significant difference. If a rack of 5s are found and some tics are on some chips but not on others, they are coded the same since we know it was from the same order.

When Dale started coding, every difference rated a new code. I never agreed with this. Heck, the chips are hand carved. If 2 workers are carving the same order of course there will be slight differences. There should not be a separte code for chips that we are fairly sure come from the same order. I have argued with Kenny when I found a chip which to me looked way different. I did not get a new code.

In summary, you have code IO-OZ
