This brings up a story. When I turned 18 (1983), the casinos in NJ allowed 18 year olds to gamble but they were not allowed to drink (which was covered by the state law of 21). My grandparents took me down the shore, introduced me to the pit bosses at Caesars where they were known players. We had a nice dinner and played some blackjack (and craps as I remember). By the time I turned nineteen the age had changed in NJ to 21 and they did not have a grandfather clause.
