Does anyone know if the CCGTCC has ever formally addressed the issue of donations, in regards to the valuing of the donated items? Usually persons donating to a not for profit are eligible to claim tax benefits/write-offs to the extent of the law.
If someone wanted to donate their collection to the club how would the tax write off work. How would one value the deduction? Has anyone donated their chips or memorabilia to the club with these benefits? Seems like the club could make a lot of money via donations come tax time. What are people planning to do with their treasures when they are no longer around?
