Sorry to be the one to break the news to you. I guess you didn't see the news items on Yahoo" News back in February.

It was reported that AARP is using a government contract face recognition program to define their mailing lists to potential members. They are scanning the digital driver's license photos of the motor vehicle department records in all 50 states. AARP then mails applications to all license holders who PHOTOS indicate the drivers are OVER the age of 50.
