One of the easiest things to point at when this question comes up, is the CCTN (aka: Casino Chip and Token News) the Club's newsletter, if you want to call a 100 plus, glossy page, color publication a newsletter, but at one time it start off as a typed newsletter!
Today the magazine is an award winning recognized pubication, published quarterly and filled with Club news, articles of interest and advertising. As mentioned by Jim Munding in another thread you are in, I'm sure I have an older copy around here that I can send, if you are interested. (Just email me your request.)
But aside from the magazine, membership has many other rewards. We have a lending library of books, magazines, catalogues and price guides, all relating to casino memorabilia collecting (not just chips). We have and promote a Code of Ethics that permits many of us to trust one another in our dealings (buying, selling and trading) as well as in our discussions and communications.
The Club puts forth Collectible Guides (2 so far) and is established to promote the educational awareness of gaming histories, much of which was purposely hidden or obscured in the secrecy of mob operation or to exclude competition or other matters of subterfuge. We have a Standards and Archive Committee that has developed a chip and token condition standard.
All of which is fine and well, but one of the things I like most about the Club, is its members, particularly the diversity of interests, backgrounds and personas and nearly everyone of us has a common interest, but different ways of showing it!
Anyway, send me an email, lets talk.
Jim
