Is if no owner could be established the chips would be treated as "found" property. At which point Fl Statutes require the found property to be held for 90 days. If no claimer came forward, the property would then be elidgible for the person that turned the itmes in as the new owener. LEO's cannot claim property in FL. So if no claimer, the disposal would be governed by department S.O.P. Ours states the items can be converted to city property, auctioned, or donated to a charity, or destroyed. In this case we would have auctioned the items using www.propertyroom.com

Mississippi's laws may differ and after the 90 days it may let the LEO's become the claimers....but that is a guess on my part.
